因为穷。。。。。。
This is clearly a major motivating factor although many do not openly acknowledge it. An assistant prof at the b school of a research university can make 150k or up to 200k in many cases. Think about how much an assistant prof in other disciplines at the same institution, say the sciences (e.g., chemistry and biology) or the humanities (e.g., history), makes. There are outliers in these areas, but this is the general trend.
The background of the original poster shows that s/he is from a wealthy family (could a kid from a rural village in China afford the exorbitant tuition of a UK school, regardless of its reputation??). However, that should not be the reason why s/he totally ignores the pecuniary consideration. The items s/he listed are either irrelevant or insignificant to me. |
