刚刚面完USC ACC PHD [2012-02-14]

教授是美国人，超级nice。她还说她老公也是Chinese，后来觉得可能是只讲广东话的Chinese，因为最后她用广东话跟我说了一个恭喜发财。我不懂广东话，后来才反应过来，挺搞笑的。

教授那边是在她家里，穿着休闲衣和颜色不同的睡裤（我这边是穿着职业装的，自从第一次面试不穿职业装，发现老师穿得特别formal，此后都是保守起见，我都穿职业装了，宁可过，不能错。）

问题主要集中在你为什么想读phd，想做什么research, 你觉得你有什么quality可以在这行做好，想选谁做导师，你有什么问题，你还申请了那些学校。总共面了不到20分钟。感觉就是想要make sure你符合他们的要求，如果要你你来的可能性也比较大。但是她说USC还有第二轮面试的。第一轮是几个老师分头面试，一对一，第二轮是一对多，5个commitee member一起拍板。招2-3个学生。

几次面试下来觉得问的问题其实基本都集中在版上有个商学院面试问题总结贴里面，大家好好准备，基本跑不出，就算问到了没有准备的问题，就当闲聊好了。

不牛。年纪比较大，有娃。美国CPA，想转行做老师，怕在公司上班，非常羡慕做老师的flexibility，希望能进个decent的program，出来找个以做research为主的research school。巨蟹，终极目标是混个tenure，然后能多花时间配家人小孩神马的。

USC应该只算一个accounting好学校吧，论名气之类的应该不算top的。

感觉austin啊，USC，UIUC啊（甚至UNC啊），都是accounting名校，但是出名靠的可能还是本科和master, 他们的名气跟phd关系其实木有那么大吧。

恩，UNC，USC research是强一些的。不说别的，光是一个bushman就已经能改变一个系的实力了。

The couple of Scott Richardson and Eran Tuna got a joint tenure offer from Michigan a couple of years ago. But they finally picked LBS probably for their own reasons. I guess the biggest contribution for Eran Tuna to LBS would be bringing her husband to the group eventually. Florin Vasvari rejected Chicago and Wharton several years ago. He will get tenured next year. But since British pounds significantly depreciated in 2009, it has been hard for the group to get good faculty.
Richardson was publishing paper on top journals even when he was in BGI. He got pretty rich and came back to the academia as a chair professor and the new head of the department. Richardson is also in the editors' group of RAS and he is young.

richardson做的是还不错了，但是跟成为skinner的那个档次还是差的远啊，skinner出名的94,97都是solo，richardson好像有名的solo paper就是他的dissertation，最后不也是被据多次，发到ras上了，跟sloan能扯上关系，对于他这种还算senior的人，发在ras和当ras的editor，其实没那么难。

tuna这么有女人味的女人，找个这么个干巴老头，唉，好白菜都让~~拱了。

我怎么觉得女人如果能被richardson看上已经无比幸运了，哈哈。tuna现在在LBS过得不要太爽哦，paper老公每年带着发，自己主要照顾家和看看小孩。住的是st johns wood的house（伦敦市区的house就和纽约upper east比较吧，可不是suburb哦）。早上带着小孩在regents park跑步，中午来吃吃超级丰盛的lunch, 有心情就找同事喝喝下午茶。办公室也是系里面朝regents park的最大最豪华的，教课任务也是系里最轻松的，绝对的事业家庭双重丰收。tuna看起来绝对是好老婆的，生了小孩发胖了，但是绝对看得出年轻时是美貌的。

另外，richardson高，瘦，爱运动，年轻，穿着时髦讲究，平时微笑多，幽默，也很帅啊，丢出去应该很多女人抢吧，怎么是干巴老头呢。
