Theme: Films can tell us a lot about the country in which they were made. What have you learnt about a country from watching its films.
Commonly, movies reflect varies of information about the country in which they were made. As Hollywood is the most popular film maker in the world, I think I shall take the example of America. I suppose that movies show no more than three vital factors of the country, which are economics, history and culture. On the other hand, nothing can get rid of the three categories. Firstly, it is undoubted that America is the most developed country and makes the largest GDP, known as gross domestic product, on the earth. It sells commodities every corner of the planet, from Canada to China. There is a famous saying that the world will be sick when America coughs. This is absolutely true and we are also able to find out such details in its films. Secondly, with somehow avocational passion in history, I have seen a great number of films about American history, which was mingled with laugh and tears. America experienced several wars, known as the independence war, the civil war and the two world wars, and won all of them at lenth. It is certain that wars are excellent themes for movies, such as the Pearl harbor and Saving Private Ryan. Moreover, what is juicy that the America Continent is the youngest, which had not been know to the rest of the world until Columnb discovered it, of the six, where human beings reside. Thirdly, America is a collage, which drives me fasinated.Acknowledged as "melting pot", the nation is a masterpiece created by individuals throughout the world. With distinct religious, races and nationalities, Uncle Sam witnessed myriad of disputes and teamworks, fighting and forgiving, even departure and gathering. Only if you watch some movies about America will you realize its extraordinary culture. So, I hold the opinion that movies are introductions of the country where they were made rather than the films themselves. They are mirrors of its culture or economics, if not history.Overall, movies teach me a lot about a country. |
