co1126. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? There is nothing that young people can teach older people. Use specific reasons and examples to support your position.
With the vigorous development of human society, more and more new things appear. People have to learn more knowledge to fit the modern society. No one dare to say he know everything, so whether young people or old people have some fields that they do not know well. I believe that young people also can teach old people something which young people are good at, and the perspectives are given as follows.
The most important reason why I agree young people can teach older people is that knowledge updates so quickly. My father learned Dos operation system when he studied in University, but I learned windows operation system. Now, my father uses the computer installed with the windows XP. He asked me many question how to use it, and I taught him as mush as possible. It is not much useful for what he learned in his university. In the meanwhile, more and more technology appear, some knowledge which older people learned in their youth is not useful now.
Second, everyone has his own major. Since the knowledge in this world is too much to learn in his or her own life, many people have to choose something they are interesting to learn. For example, I am good at computer, but my uncle is good at cooking. I can teach my uncle how to use the computer, how to surf on the line because I know more about computer knowledge than he.
Third, young people have many new ideas. Some older people deal with things with old ways, sometimes, it can be solved, but sometimes, it is hard to solve it. Young people’s imagination is without any limitation, so they can think other ways to work it out.
From what we discussed above, we can safely and wisely draw the conclusion that young people can teach older people not only because the knowledge is updating fast nowadays, but also because each one has his own major. There must be a teacher in three walking men. |
