怎么知道对话中的it指代的是return the book还是go over to the dean's and sign up?

我记得我第一次听的时候选的是go over to the dean's and sign up，但是答案好像不是这个，是第一个return the book。感觉还是蒙蒙的。

我选的是return the library book,即我认为it指代的是go over the dean's and sign up，可是答案上却说应该选the man will stop by the dean's office。确实很迷惑。。。

还有个问题。。为什么我听力错了两个却只有27分呢？（其实本人没那么牛~只是pp做多了，嘿嘿~）请问有人知道听力是怎么算分的吗？

Pay attention to but，'that' refers to the former statement: return the book

If 'that' refers to "go to dean's office", don't you think it is too complicated to beat around the bush?
