其实最简单的错误就是时间表述。

by+1997...表示在1997年之前
In+1997...表示在1997年的那一年

我看到的D中最大的不对在于句尾分词修饰错误。

“逗号+过去分词”结构中，过去分词是用来修饰其前紧邻的名词的，在题目中是chores；
而选项中的过去分词真正想修饰的确实前面的主句。错了。

D选项还有一个很明显的错误，比较对象不合理。
这一选项在把“a figure"和”children in the united states"放在一起比较了。。。
把D选项放在未划线处前面看的会更清楚。“Compared with a figure of....., .....children in the united states spent..."这样是不是就可以很明显的看到比较对象的不合理了？

有人说D的compared with是修饰的chores,有人说修饰的是主语，到底修饰的是什么呢，求大家解答啊～～～

对于D，我重新想了一下，可能是比较点不对。因为前面一句并没有提到figure,或者figure同类型的词；后面如果比较，最好是much more time then they did in the past之类的句子；而且the figure of XXXhours a week有种限定figure的比较，这种of词组prep08里面似乎有提到。所以D不对吧。。。
