were closed to visitors for cleaning and repair due to moisture exhaled by tourists, which raised its humidity to such levels so that salt from the stone was crystallizing and fungus was growing on the walls.

prep里的对于because 和because of 的解释还是有点不懂  复制

Because of 后只能加简单的名词结构，because of sb’s doing 一定要改成because

这种情况同样适用于due to， despite（in despite of）， as a result of

这是说明 because of Mary's hard work 这种我常用的句子是错误的吗？ 只能写成because Mary works hard


还有以下解释

D because of moisture无法表达closed for cleaning and repair的直接原因

上面说because of 和 due to 之类的表原因的短语 因为其带上了介词就只能加上最简单的名词结构 所以在其解释答案的时候也就只把后面唯一的一个名词作为介词宾语 然后because of 这种表因果的短语只能用一个名词来说明原因，而这个名词修饰的部分不参与说明原因，可是我看名词加从句是完全可以表达出closed for cleaning and repair的直接原因

对其这方面的解释觉得有点牵强  答案是E

哈哈,昨天才分析了这一道题,我去找我写的东西.

pyramid在1997年were closed,humidity level的上升导致closed,故这个humidity level的上升是发生在1997之前,应该用had raised.salt...was crystallizing与未划线部分and fungus was growing 保持一致(平行结构)
至于due to和because of后面从来都只能跟简单的名词结构,我觉得这一点毫无疑问吧.
这个题我是通过平行结构和due to的错误来选择的.

至于due to和because of后面从来都只能跟简单的名词结构,我觉得这一点毫无疑问吧.
这个题我是通过平行结构和due to的错误来选择的.

我所说的because of+简单名词的问题是说 这里要求直接说明原因的句子最好 但是由于because of只能加简单名词 所以说明的原因也不具体和直接 这是PREP解释上的意思

但我觉得后面加上的简单名词也有修饰成分，前面是说既然用了because of 那原因就是后面那个名词 名词的修饰成分全部丢掉， 可是我觉得正是因为非要强行丢掉修饰成分才使得表达原因不直接，就比如 我想说
金字塔修理的原因是湿气的增加导致……
但是由于上句里的词组“的原因”我用的because of  所以就直接判定原因就因为湿气 这就导致原因不直接
而实际上是规定用了because of +简单名词 而忽略掉了后面的“的增加导致……”的这种修饰结构 是这种结构的强行规定弄的这个句子原因不直接，而实际上这个句子读起来时原因还是很清晰直接的

简单的说
A due to moisture无法表达closed for cleaning and repair的直接原因 ：   引起关闭的是湿度到了某个水平，而不是有水气，水汽什么时候都有。这逻辑上不行

我不认为because of +名词+修饰不行，关键问题是这种修饰经常引起歧义。
because of moisture that was exhaled by tourists raising the humidity within them to levels so high as to make the salt from the stone crystallize

以上面这句为例，按照文中想表达的意思，raising应该是 moisture发出的，但是这里明显也是也可以修饰tourists。的
