Do you agree or disagree with the statement . For someone who wants to be successful in the society, knowledge gained from study is more important than the ability of being creative.

To be successful, some argue that knowledge gained from the study is highly significant, while others emphasize the ability of being creative. I agree with the formers in that knowledge is the basis for long-lasting and influential success. However, the ability of being creative, in my view, is definitely more important than knowledge in the process of success.
Admittedly, knowledge is to some extent significant to great success. As commonly defined, knowledge is referred to as the aggregation of facts, rules and theories in various fields, which also is the sum of fruits of creations of historical figures. Despite some exceptions, knowledge is widely hailed as the basis of further intellectual development and success. As Newton commented about his marvelous achievements, and I paraphrase, it was because he stood on the shoulders of giants that he could accomplish so much. Even the breakthrough of the relative theory of Albert Einstein was created on the base of work of numerous physicists and mathematicians. Therefore, adequate knowledge is fundamental to one who wants to be successful.
However, knowledge alone cannot make difference. In various domains nowadays, cruel competition renders success harder to reach. Whether you settle yourself in industry or academia, the creativity is indispensable to any success.
Firstly, when it comes to industry, economic laws require specialness and difference, which can only be brought by creativity and innovation. One of the basic theories in commercial arena is to offer distinctive products and services to the markets. Though knowledge can facilitate the process, creativity is the major force propelling outcome of new ideas. A compelling illustration would be iPod of Apple Company. The first several years of the 21st century witnessed the great expansion of market share of iPod in MP3 industry. Most of its consumers are attracted by its fantastic appearance and unprecedentedly huge storage volume. The very creation of iPod has brought Steve Jobs and his company billions of dollars, a spectacular hit in IT industry. Thus, the ability of being creative is essential to industries, especially to commerce.
Secondly, the academia also needs creativity desperately. It is safe to conclude that any far-reaching and long-lasting breakthroughs in scientific world are dependent on nothing but creativity. Take Einstein for example again. When the scientist firstly introduced the concept of relativity, no one could ever understand it. As claimed above, knowledge is fundamental, but creation played a more significant variable in the function of Einstein's success. No development could have happened if Einstein had no such courage or intelligence of creation. Therefore, creativity is also irreplaceable for academic success.
In conclusion, I hold that although knowledge is somehow important, even basic, to success, the ability of being creative is much more momentous in that it can bring innovations and breakthroughs, which are two major causes of success.
