The Department of Business Technology at Miami Herbert Business School is looking to recruit 2 PhD students in areas of Information Systems/MIS/Business Technology/Technology Innovation/Analytics, starting 2023 fall.

The faculty members in the department cover a wide range of topics and methodological expertise and they hold editorships in top business journals, such as MISQ, ISR, POM, and JAIS. Research topics include digital platforms, digital innovation, healthcare IT, digital media, blockchain, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, etc. The faculty members are active researchers in the field and are very experienced in placing students in research universities in the US, Europe, and Asia.

Admitted students will receive full funding for to up five years, and they will also have opportunities to work with top professors in other areas, such as accounting, strategy, and marketing. U Miami Herbert Business School’s PhD program is very research intensive, for example, its accounting department recently placed students in tenure-track positions in MIT Sloan and Chicago Booth.

好像迈阿密的项目也不是很新了，也办了几年了，而且他们挖过来的老师有的也很资深，在做科研和带学生方面也 ...

The PhD student stipend is ~$36500, UM also covers health insurance and tuition. There are conference travel funds available and also opportunities to earn summer stipend for high-performing students through faculty advisors and center funding

Marquette, Kansas,Darla Moore.金融的就业还是卷的厉害啊，会计能去MIT，金融只能去80左右。管理学的Yale University博后都强很多。真的是怕入错行，欸。

金融太卷了 有太多名校Econ PhD申请教职了，金融系很多也很喜欢

会计相对protective一些。不过Miami毕业去到MIT Sloan和Chicago Booth的也算近几年最好的，并不是每年都能place up。

我的个人观察，现在商学院PhD就业来看，这几年的话，看职位和竞争者比来讲，MIS > Strategy > Accounting > Marketing > OM > Finance。MIS整体是华人学生非常好的选择，因为很多都有很好的编程基础和统计基础。

当然，如果光看薪酬，那Finance和Accounting的工资平均都要比其他专业高20%以上了。

可惜咯我是入错行。综合薪水，以及申请难度来说，会计目前绝对是性价比第一的，像我们学校新招的会计AP都是22w起了。。。金融貌似才18~20w。MKT申请难度低但是工资也低。
性价比排名我觉得是ACCT》MGT》MKT》finance吧。。有些学校MGT下面没分那么细，就是IS/OM/stra都放到一起了。

没必要这么纠结，兴趣才能走得更远。我本硕博都是金融，我也只喜欢和只想专注金融这个领域研究。

The starting base compensation (usually for 10 months) for an entry-level AP in business at a top 40-50 institution (e.g., University of Colorado) typically falls in the $120K to $160K range -- the upper bound has hardly been reached at certain of these. This range is expected to remain stable or even decrease for the foreseeable future. The differential between the different concentrations, where it does exist, is usually around $10K or even several thousand dollars and rarely exceeds $20K. If the starting base compensation for an AP in Accounting at your school is significantly higher at a dazzling 220K, I can only imagine two scenarios: that AP is a 'flying pig' or you are attending a top 5 private (not public) school (at the level of Harvard or MIT).
