请问：为什么tend用过去时-tended？而suffer 和 eat用现在时？谢谢！（答案我没有意见）

分析及考点：冠词误用。比较级前不用加定冠词the，直接用poorer diet就行

参考译文：史前的村民们倾向于努力工作，防除疾病，和吃比游牧的猎人少的食物。

here just describe an action, so past tense is ok.

Don't "suffer" and "eat" also describe past actions?  Why not apply past tense to them???
