My name is Hayley Gao and I'm currently a 1st year MSF student at GraduateSchool of Management(GSOM) at Clark University. I am working as the Communications Graduate Assistant at GSOM now.

I think GA is opened to new students in their first semester. My friend and I both got the GA position in our first semester at Clark

Hi, I would answer your question.

Unfortunately MSA students seldom receive the scholarship. But I believe you could be awarded if you are outstanding enough. E-mail to admission office is a good way to clear your mind.

In addition, I have to tell you that GA position is NOT open to the new students in the first semester. According to United States' Immigrant Policy, international students with F1 Visa are prohibited to participate in any forms of employments in the first semester whatever on-campus or off campus. This information can be told by the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) staffs. Therefore, you need to consider other financial aid to assist yourself.

I would answer your question.

Accounting is one of the majors which are considered to be the easiest to find internship in United States. However, on one hand, more and more American companies prefer U.S. students because they don't want to spend money to sponsor international students like us; on the other hand, we are located in Massachusetts, where there locate so many top universities like Harvard, MIT, BC and BU etc. and we are not competent enough to beat them down. Therefore, the situation for international students is not that relaxing as you imagine even though we are in Worcester, a small town in central Massachusetts in our eyes.
As for the data of the employment, you could ask the staff in Career Service Center. According what I have known, most MSA students returned home after graduation of Class 2016 (It refers to the students who entered the Clark in 2014). Many of us, second-year students in MSA program, are also planning to go back China.
But, please remember traditional Chinese proverb: "Where there is a will, there is a way." Once you tried your best and be responsible for yourself, you can handle whatever difficulties you would meet. Good Luck and enjoy your Clark time here!
