OG的一道语法题有问题 有没有大神解答下

E。The key in the first question is that "Following gradually declining" pairs a participle (which ends in -ing) with a gerund (which also ends in -ing). Two -ing's in a row is a no-no.

对于E这个选项的解释 我有点问题，想说存在逻辑主语有误的问题吗？
如果改成following gradually declension，除了redundant，语法上有问题吗？

我感觉我讲着讲着就要晕了 总之这里的following后面跟个ing 就是别扭

但是following感觉做分词表示事情的顺序的话非常奇怪，我看到过一个例子：表示跟着
the dog came in，following its master 这里就是伴随的状态
这个题目里面，follow是表示一个时间上的顺序，介词就可以表达他的意思了
当然两个分词在一起就更奇怪了

哦！！我知道了。是不是因为following后面是动词，所以following 不可以作动词？！

你可能误解了我的意思
Ignoring the admonitions of his staff, the chief financial officer accepted the advice of the consulting company
看这个句子，我的意思是following 作此句中ignoring的用处，作为一个动词。。。

gradually是就很明确了

following如果做状语，--伴随很奇怪（有先后顺序），更不会是结果
而且我貌似还木有看到过做分词的用法，因为不管什么句子，都会是上面的原因

动名词是名词词性的--》这里在句子里做什么 ...

我觉的你说的 following gradual declension by 是declension 作名词的情况，但是还有declining 作动名词的情况，这个时候后面加to 也是可以的。我仔细看了看，觉得应该是因为gradually 副词修饰动词 所以排除了declining 是动名词的情况，不知道你同意吗？

following 我说错了，不是动名词 是现在分词，现在分词作状语，不可以吗?

把to去掉吧 following gradual declension by【减少的量】..

动名词是名词词性的--》这里在句子里做什么成分？
而且本身有介词词性可以使用

额。。。不是ing形式--》是following这个词本身是由介词词性的的~~

关于to 的问题--> decline to 习惯用法，而且如果是名词的话，to 是可以去掉的~
