以我至今的经验，美国的MBA咨询公司的确多是采用的这一套
因为我算出来68（考虑我是中国人加上公司是中国的，减了两分）而中介推荐的的确也是DUKE

去GMAT CLUB看看，好像普遍反应挺准的。

其实我觉得公司加分少是有一定道理的。
公司毕竟只是个名号，名号本身的价值非常有限。而真正这些大牛公司的员工，其他背景统统不会弱，相比于公司的名号本身，其他的背景更能代表申请人的综合素质。essay反而能更好的反映出非大牛背景和出身，但经历足够丰富和有价值的申请人的素质。

Thanks for your advice. Yet I list my own and other people's personal experience as reference.

Essays/recommendations/resumes don't require the quality of rhetoric, but they do require logic and arrangements. Others do need to see your future career planning, how bold your imagination is and how you'll use your very specific skills to make that into reality.

I guess both of us have written lots of papers and have been enlisted as academic society members, so stop doing it the dirty way. Yes, nobody dare to guarantee how accurate is, yet as I said, it's better than asking other people even without admission experience to judge your possibility. If you really like quant, the difference between good and bad essays will make a slightly higher than 10% difference in your application. I guess nobody will deny that.

Essay is important but it is the fact in your essay that matters, not your idea. When we talk about how to write a good essay, it is more about how to answer the question with strong fact, not write amazing ideas with no fact to support. Facts include your working experience, your social/leadership experience, and your own research of school.

For example, everyone can talk about entrepreneurship or leadership. The way you stand out is to support it with the real leadership experience you had.

Business school essay is not about writing, period. How appropriate the words/phases/structure you write does mean something, but content is way more important than that, just like every business report/paper you would write in future. One thing I learn is: Don't bullshit unless you have fact/evidence to support it.

当然，毁的也有。
ESSAY的确是很重要的，不然不会让你写四五篇。

中国人的确难度要大上很多

这个完全是扯淡的，就是为了突出什么高盛麦肯锡经验的加分还没有essay写好点加分多，虽然并不是完全没道理，但对大多数人（特别是中国人）来说，能有什么特殊经历写出超牛逼essay？如果没有特殊经历，essay写的好不好不可能让你有从完全不知名公司从事普通工作到投行咨询工作的变化

所以这个就是为了让你觉得essay/recommendation要找他们服务，因为他们帮你可以写出顶级的essay
