除了逗号的这个问题之外，因为主句是threaten一般进行时，如果换成flourishing，所描述的civilization表达 ...

真正原因是those指代前面的singular civilization不对，如果前面是civilization后面想说复数的civilizations和其并列平行必须补出S；看A选项，就补出了，所以CDE看到those直接就扔掉

可能大家都没去字典查过，威胁这个动词的原型就是threaten,名词是threat,查过之后，动词肯定是threaten,整个句子Verb form就很好理解了~

我觉得怎么看全句的意思都是在强调前半句，后半句只是修饰啊，比如我说：I like Paris, a city that flourished at the time of...这句话是我自己编出来的。。
但是也能看得出来这种句子结构的前半句才是主干，后面只是修饰主干中的宾语的
本题也一样，实在不明白为什么这么多人同意句子动词不是threaten
