求问OG13 SC52 的long before it was...修饰问题

我想问的是，我总觉得DE选项long before...写在整个句子最前面感觉像修饰整个句子（即修饰made和remained两句话），所以抛弃D选了C，求大牛指点！
还有OG对C的解释Inversion of the expected word order in to be an expatriate was unfashionable is awkward.一直不是很理解，看了前人的帖子还是没有领悟，求指点！

问一下这个A选项， and she 说明前后两句是并列关系，OG说前一句主语最好是J.B这个人。我的疑问是，并列句的主语是一定相同吗？感觉见到好多反例。

还有，C中这种情况算两个谓语吗？？i go home long before she arrives. 感觉这句也说得通，不算两个谓语吧？

Long before it was fashionable to be an expatriate, Josephine Baker made Paris her home. 这是一个完整的句子，long before引导的是一个从句啊。你说修饰整个句子是什么意思。

C 中made和was两个谓语，错。

不定式和that clause做主语都是awkward的，应该postphone它们，并用it放在句首做placeholder。

其实我认为it作形式主语是指代后面的that或to be等结构的。
这也正是it的作用啊，避免头重脚轻。

中学英语老师说的。
结果我在千行笔记里看这个这个解释：
it做形式主语的时候不指代任何东西（这个知识点是新的！我之前以为会指代to do结构）

expatriate n.移居国外者  it是形式主语指代to be an expatriate，不是指代Paris......
Paris was fashionable to be an expatriate.这意思也太ridiculous！ 上面楼层有说错的........
