25.  SHOPPING CENTER MAY BE BUILD IN NEIGHBORHOOD, SUPPORT OR OPPOSE?

Recently, it has been announced that a large shopping center may be built. There are some people who strongly agree the new plan, while others hold the opinion that to build a shopping center is not an advisable idea. If I were faced with this issue, I would like to welcome the idea since it will contributes a lot to the community. In the following discussion, I will elaborate reasons and evidence to support my point.

It firstly comes to the fact that to establish a shopping center will provide a large number of careers to local residents. Currently, the increase of population becomes the most critical problem, which directly causes the unemployment to rise. People suffer from layoff and also tend to unsatisfactory with the government. This situation can easily be changed after the shopping center is placed. Hundreds of positions will be available to the job seekers who are simply anxious to earn some money or eager to present their talents. Individuals can apply jobs, such as, managers, salesperson, accountants and so on, which offer everyone great opportunities to receive the best suitable work and develop working skills in various positions. Obviously, to build a shopping center in the neighborhood is conducive to inhabitants.

Another head and chief reason is that local people will enjoy the conveniences of obtaining entertainment just a few minutes walk from their houses. On the weekend, persons may spend the whole day in this shopping center, not only purchase their necessaries, but also release themselves from the pressure of work or study. Going for a movie to experience the magic dream on the silver screen or setting with a few friends in a coffee shop to talk about interesting news are excellent pastimes to people, thus significantly enhance the quality of individuals’ lives.

It should be admitted that to open a shopping center would bring many problems, for example, noise pollution which may disturb somebody’s work and study. However, considering the higher profits and taxes to the local government, to build a shopping center has positive effect to the economy.

In sum up, given the reasons discussed above, we can safely arrive the conclusion that to build a shopping center in my neighborhood is a wise selection of the government.
