Hi my friend, and thanks for your question. I’m glad to see that you’re planning early and already taking actions to achieve your dream. As for your two options, I’d vote for the first one. To be honest, if you’re unsure of the best career path to realize your life’s goal, it’s always better to take a job first. This gives you the opportunity to explore different options and gain more experience. The more you are exposed to, the more clearly you will know what you like and what you don’t like. Ultimately, it helps you figure out the exact path you’d like to take, in your career and in graduate school. I understand you’re afraid to lose your passion and settle for the current job, but you can definitely control this. That’s why figuring out a career goal is so important.
