开学前，现在需要在学习上作哪些准备？？？

8月美国MBA开学，

现在想问问，除了生活上的一些准备，

还需要准备哪些？主要是课业方面的，主要需要做哪些准备呢？

我想问问，数学方面到底要先预习啥啊？统计学知识也需要先学一点吗？还有什么电脑软件需要经常使用的？要先学习了，第一年的功课很重的，从现在开始学了

理科背景，没碰过财务的，可以准备一下accounting的入门知识
另外，excel也可以学学，透视表啦，宏什么的

我研究了半天，觉得这两门课是可以提前准备，节约开学后的学习时间的

谢谢！话说我们在平时准备中都是以托福或者ＧＭＡＴ的复习资料来提高英文，现在以实战为目的的提高，大家有没有什么好的方法来建议如何提高英文？

我认为数学这块需要预习（条件是象我这种非理科出生的人，this is a must）
英语的话，同学们早半个月去，真实环境下锻炼听说更有效吧

我觉得英文口语一定要练，更重要的是要准备自己的story. 如果是要做consulting,现在练练case。如果想做投行，多练练finance related interview questions. 如果要做股票，现在就该想想自己的stock pitch。进MBA以后，大部分人对面试的准备都不充分就开始面试。现在刚好面了学校，趁热打铁，练一下自己的pitch, 准备个一分钟的和5分钟的story。

然后想想怎么回答工作面试会问到的问题，比如：tell me a story how you work in a team? how did you solve conflict in a team? How did you work creatively on a project? what are your weakness? etc? Walk me through balance sheet and income statement? How to increase bottom line for a consumer product? etc

Start reaching out to alums in China and request meetings. They will be valuable resources later on.

B-school takes in students from a wide spectrum of backgrounds. Most schools do a good job in setting the table for basic skills prior to school start (i.e. language institutes, math review, accounting review).

In my experience, I feel the only necessary reviews are:
1)    If you are not solid on Calculus, it may be beneficial to review basic differentiation and integration. That’s about as much as you need on Math.
2)    For international students, if you don’t have good grasp of English, speaking and listening, it would behoove you to practice. B-school courses are very dialogue heavily, if you can’t keep up with the discussions in class, you will have lost much of the learning experience.
3)    For international students, brush up on speed reading on business English. You will have TONS of case reading. Being able to get through them quickly is key to managing your time effectively.

For the English skills, you can practice by watching US TV, and try to read/write/speak English on during your daily activities.
