38. Bengal-born writer, philosopher, and educatorRabindranath Tagore had the greatest admiration for Mohandas K. Gandhi the person and also as apolitician, but Tagore had been skeptical of Gandhi’s form of nationalism and hisconservative opinions about India’s cultural traditions.

(A) for Mohandas K. Gandhi the person and also as apolitician, but Tagore had been

(B) for Mohandas K. Gandhi as a person and as apolitician, but Tagore was also

(C) for Mohandas K. Gandhi not only as a person and as apolitician, but Tagore was also

(D) of Mohandas K. Gandhi as a person and as also apolitician, but Tagore was

(E) of Mohandas K. Gandhi not only as a person and as apolitician, but Tagore had also been

按照OG上的答案,我的理解是admiration for +sb./ admiration of + sth.

请问我的理解正确吗?

牛津:admiration for sb/sth
     admire sb/sth for sth
     admire sb for doing sth
字典上没有出现后面跟of的。

综合下述,我的理解是一般说admire for sb; admire sth; 如果有admiration, 则可以说admiration for主语仰慕宾语,admiration of宾语仰慕主语

可是og对d项的解释第一句话说 The noun “admiration” as it is positioned in this sentence should take the preposition“ for”, not “of”, since it refers to a person.

那到底admiration of 跟admiration for有什么区别啊  在使用的时候?

同意LS,这题的确和admire搭配无关,这道题考的是对转折结构和并列结构的理解。
