真是到了危机关头了，希望大家能帮帮我。

真是到了危机关头了，希望大家能帮帮我。
我先说一下我的背景吧，985,211会计本，T104，G760，交换半年，会所+投行+银行+local小公司财务实习，课外活动若干。因为是广东人，所以希望以后在广东和香港工作，因此申请放在了美国和香港的学校，但是美国没有申请保底学校，都冲的名校，想着录不到就去香港。申请的学校为Duke， BC， WUSTL，Umich，UVa,Rochester,CUHK和HKU（大家不要笑我这么冒险。。。。。）Duke为MMS项目，HKU为经济和金融学，其余为会计项目。
现在的情况是Duke面试后进入waitlist，UVa刚刚面试完要一月十五号出结果（感觉面试的不太好，而且UVa会计招大陆人太少，又多为财经院校，估计给跪），港中文拿到ad要一月四号交九万港币定金。其他学校都是十二月才递交，所以申请状态都在审材料中。结果LZ的妈咪慌了，因为美国没有申请保底，妈咪怕LZ都录不到，所以现在有交九万港币的打算，想图个心安。但是LZ真心不想破费这么多啊，毕竟这么多学校还没有出结果，可是我也怕会全军覆没，到时候港大也没录到，就没书读了。。。。现在LZ手上还有工作的offer，是自己偷偷申请拿到的，可是妈咪不让我去工作，一定要我去读烟酒僧，所以这两个offer也不能签了。LZ没有申请USC是因为托福过期了，现在再考感觉有点来不及了，而且太久没碰了。没申请UIUC是因为在我眼里其实UIUC的地位跟港中文差别不是太大，LZ申请的美国学校都是在我眼里比港中文更值得读的学校，大家别拍我，一家之言。
大家觉得我现在应该是交钱保住港中文呢，还是放弃港中文，再赌一把别的学校呢。恳求大家给我一点意见（LZ的工作地点是想在广东和香港），LZ真的很难过和纠结，不想花这么多钱，可又担心自己到时候真的没书读了。。。。。。。。

Lz觉得另外任意哪所来了对你的帮助附加值大于9万hkd么
我的话会交，风控，除非是绝对不想去的学校（那应该都不会申吧

CUHK不次于HKU   MSF又很不错
HKU又偏好工作经验的  你要赌，只能说你风险太大了，LZ是风险偏好者？
当然，不差钱者除外~

我CUHK是会计，因为我是会计本，我对金融兴趣不够大，而且我觉得我学金融不能stand out，我HKU主要是想试一下经济。。。。。你是觉得CUHK不值得读么？

I really do not know why people need to study accounting from bachelor all through master. I think accounting is quite simple. It only take one year to understand most of the stuff there. If I were you, I would certainly try finance major, just to give you more diversified choices in your career path.

Thank u! But its so late now. I did not prepare anything for Fin except HKU.  And I do not have any good math BG for Fin.  Its really tough for me. Does it matter?  really intense competition in MSF~

Also to correct you and everyone, maths is not important either in Fin or Econ unless you go for Quantitative PhD or MFE. You will use little maths if you do investment banking, equity research, private equity, sales & trading. My maths was topped when I was 18, and I could not answer even a single question on the college entrance exam.

But they usually need WE which I do not have.  So its risky. U recommend me Fin, could u give me some advice on which uni is suitable for me to apply in the late round?

I am sorry, what is WE? I think getting a diversified education background would be more beneficial. It could make HKU better than most of the MSA programs in US. I would only go for U of Mich, Duke, etc.


I am not quit familiar with MSF programs. But I do no think there are too many MSF programs better then HKU. I would think HKU is better than UIUC for placement opportunities.

Haha, WE refers to working experience. I think you are right. Actually HKU is my dream school and has great reputation in  Guangdong and HK. But its really tough to apply.  Working experience matters a lot. What do u think about Eco in HKU?

If you work now, what will be your job? Getting MBA is not that easy. If you can get into a good plantform, such as MCC, BCG, CICC, then you should go for it. If you go to accounting firms, then you should go for a master.


I think Econ is still better than accounting, but not as good as finance. If you score finance major as 10 and accounting as 5, then Econ is like 6-7. You should carefully figure out the placement opportunities of HKU Econ since I am not familiar with that. But in the USA, Econ may be much worse than accounting since it is a science major (not business) and very hard to get a job.

是的，我明白你的意思，我知道大家帮不了我，我只是想问问如果大家是我，会怎么做决定，毕竟都是在为出国而奋斗的，肯定有我类似情况的。谢谢你。而且现在是我妈妈想交，我自己不想，其实钱也不是我的。。。。。。我妈既然愿意，我其实没什么再纠结，但是我不想让妈妈为我这样操劳和付出，哎。而且我感觉这个楼已经歪了，后面都变成讨论我是被否应该去申请MSF了。。。。。。囧~不过真的感觉很有收获，我觉得大家真的很热心，谢谢大家~

Your mother may not be quite helpful unless she is familiar with this topic. Most of the people on CD will not help you either since they are on the same spot as you. You need to learn advice from people like my age or similar experience. I think it can save you a lot of time and money in your hole life if you could once listen to a forerunner.
