Firstly,good parents should regard looking after and educating their children as their foremost responsibility.If parents keep this idea in mind,they would be careful about what to say and how to do,preventing their children from inapproprate words and deeds.For instance,in order to set a good example to his child,a good parent should respect their parents,be polite to their neighbors,obey the social ethic,etc .

Secondly,good parents should respect their children's privacies and protect them.The fact is that many parents believe that they can know their children better by means of seeing their diaries,calling to their friends without their children's permission.As soon as children get the truth,they might feel hurt.Accordingly,parents who could built trust realationship between their children and theirselves might be successful parents.

Morever,good parents can offer helps to their children appropriately.When children get in difficulties,parents surely need to drag them out of the mass.At the same time,going too far is as bad as not going far enough.Too much assistance will make children reliant and keep back their own development.So parents should learn how to cultivate their children's ability to settle problems by themselves.

There might be some other charactersof good parents,such as pantience and optimistic.But as a child of my parents,I think that the three points mentioned above are the most precious .I benefit a lot from them.
