题目: Do you agree or disagree with the followingstatement? Colleges or universities should offer student a better jobpreparation before they start working.
Use specific reasons to support your answer.
In recent years, a tough problem, that is,low employment rate among graduates, is facing in front of the final-yearcollege or university students. Some attribute it to the college or universityeducation. Another question has thus been raised up------ In such a badsituation, should colleges or universities offer students a better job preparationbefore they start working to assist them to find satisfied jobs after finishingstudy? Personally speaking, I definitely agreewith the idea that colleges or universities should help their students preparebetter for job seeking because of their weakness of no related workingexperience. There is no denying that it’s colleges or universities’responsibilities to equip students with the skills before they step into jobmarket. During the four-year undergraduate study, students will firstly learntheir basic courses and then focus on the relatively important major courses. Takingstudents from Accounting major as an example, they will learn about majorcourses such as Financial Accounting, Financial Management and Auditing etc, whichback up students the background knowledge frequently applied in their careers.Without mastering core courses, students will probably be turned down byemployers. As a result, it’s the dominant target of colleges or universities’to provide high quality of teaching resources for students, thus offering thema better job preparation. Apart from that, better job preparationwill enables colleges or universities to enhance the student employment rateand improve the reputation among perspective students as a whole, attracting betterstudents in the future. The phenomenon is prevalent in the USA. As far as I’mconcerned, school rankings are based on the colleges or universities studentemployment rate and some other vital factors. By making students better preparefor the job is an effective way to increase the rate. Therefore, it’s conceivablethat colleges or universities should help students better prepare for jobs. Last but not least, employers will savetons of time and take less effort to train students with better job preparation. These students have both needed skills and mental readiness, making themselvesbetter transit from school to society, thus having fewer errors compared withothers who don’t prepare for jobs and then improving the productivity ofsociety finally. All in all, with the points that I came upwith in the previous paragraphs, it’s obvious to reach an agreement that Collegesor universities should offer student a better job preparation before they startworking for the reasons in the view of students, schools and society. |
