昨天看了一个人的帖子，不知道这个观点正确否，有待考究：
说主从句指代，从句中的代词优先指代它的上一层次中的名词
这个句子里A，but B并列；
B是一个条件句，又分为主句和从句
第一个their 是A层次里面的
第二个their是B里的主句中的that从句里面的
that从句中的代词首先优先指代他上一个层次中的名词，也就是perpetrators

不过我感觉 可能也是这样指代才比较近吧！

都是代词就都有指代同一个的嫌疑，而第二个如果指代的语义上不是同一个的话，那就歧义了~
