只是说明这两个goal像
而原句是as it was of，即 as owning and living was a goal of ealier generations
比较的是owning and living在现在是goal和在过去也是goal的事实,而不是两个goal本身

如：The car in the corner looks cooler than that beside the road. (that=car, 表示new copy, 就是说第一个car 和第二个car是不同的)


如果上面理解了，那么看这题
