I don't know much about the detail information regarding IESE students going back to work in North America, as I am not from there. However, I do know that we have peers got offers from major consulting firms in the US offices, as well as major pharmaceutical companies and other MNCs. You could reach the admission office for the career information in that region. To be honest most American students come to IESE for the international exposure and opportunities, and a lot of them choose to work outside the states: London, Spain, Italy, Dubai...etc.
IESE and Columbia have very different culture and strengths, so you could try to match your WHY MBA to these schools again and see which one better fits with your personal goal.

Actually IESE has good reputation in many large MNCs in China, and Spain might not be as shitty as you assume, even though it's indeed in a bad shape now. There are many opportunities outside Spain and IESE is not ranked as a top business school for no reason.
