From the Wharton online talk last week I read that Group Discussion will not be practiced in the 1st round. Instead, they will apply it during the 2nd round. However, it will be more or less like a pilot and the performance will not be considered for applicants' candidacy.

Good point, but no. They dealt with the logistics issue by apparently starting group interviews instead. Which is also why they had to stop alumni interviews- alumni don't have the training for it.

中国学生的录取比例能有10% 吗? 沃顿一年毕业800多啊，太批量了。

In the class of 2013, 6442 applied. An admission rate of 16% would mean 1030 admitted.

We see that 845 enrolled (actually attended). 845/1030 = acceptance rate of 82%, which seems like a reasonable number. So 40/40 (admission rate=16%) still sounds right to me.

rechardql: the numbers apply to the entire pool. They will not apply when a pool is too small (for instance, Singapore, where there may only be 10-20 applicants). But for Chinese applicants, where there are at least hundreds of you, this is statistically big enough for the number to apply.
