这里并不是跟未划线部分出现的greatly重复，而是原句根本木有要表达“伟大的象征/代表”这样的意思，仅仅是说这两人是美国文化的代表。

3，“C:great和icon重复”——innerwarrior
O(∩_∩)O这个见解很新颖噢，的确great可以当名词表示伟人的意思，我们在写作中或者口语中，这两个词语互换不会什么问题，但是在GMAT SC里面，如果选项用great 代替icon是不ok的，除非别的选项都有明显错误哈。

4，“beloved此处是什么词性呢？？？”——nhelpn
“beloved是动词被动语态，beloved by...”——naiwm009
这里是过去分词做状语，修饰主语。那为啥不是被动语态呢？我们可以倒推着来解释，如果是被动语态的话，就默认了逗号后省略了主语，也就是变成了逗号连接两个整句~ 所以只有可能是状语，虽然位置也不是很好，但它是对的，也不太会引起歧义，文学总不能是被一直钟爱的吧.........

B觉得很别扭，这样的结构感觉强调的是author和poet这两个职业而不是这两个人本身
C的这个被动的named完全没有必要而且也有改变句子重心的嫌疑，而且多的这个great也没有出现的理由
D句子更是不通顺了，非常别扭支离破碎的，第一个和第三个句号用法不当
E同D，而且也没有明显的标志标明需要用被动语态的过去时。
