the acceptance into the affiliation of big ten means a lot to UNL. look at penn state in early 1990s when they were not accepted into the big ten. their business school ranked out of 100. 4 yrs after their big ten promotion, the business school rocketed to top 50 in some fields. very recently, their strategy has been pumping up like amazingly fast. the placement records since then speak for everything. as for UNL, some big ten schools as well as some other decent schools start to pay attention to doctoral candidates in the market. i would say that the placement record would change significantly 2-3 yrs from now. graduating doctoral candidates in strategy, marketing, and accounting have all secured good job offers at research schools for 2011. and this remarks the beginning of a radical change in terms of academic reputation. moreover, the business school will be recruiting tons of experienced and respected full/associate professors in all business fields, especially in strategy/entrep and finance. similar to what univ of miami is doing right now on acct, the business school is actually rebuilding the whole strategy/entrep. -- by 会员 galluplinc (2011/3/6 5:25:34)
