If you would consider applying next year, then there is no need to fight this year. It will only harm your chances. On one occasion (and I have been in this business for over five years) a candidate was successfully able to “argue her way” into an acceptance. But you will of course need a VERY strong case as to what you had done wrong in your app, and what you have done to improve your app since sending it in. if you have such a case, and you DON’T plan to reapply next year, then you certainly have nothing to lose. But your chances, as you know, are veeeery low…
