我这种情况要不要念Phd---accounting taxation方向

本科U of Washington, Accounting, overall GPA3.85

2011 Fall MSA taxation方向,一是税法很有意思,二是这个方向竞争比较小


美国工作太难找,又不想回国,所以考虑明年这个时候申请Phd, 可能还是tax方向,或者tax+ financial decision之类的,但是我没有研究经验,也不知道tax要research什么


有如下几个问题
如果phd想回到UW念的话(UW research reputation 很高,我知道很难很难),研究生应该选哪个学校?
U of washington(已录取), U of Virginia(已录取), U of notre dame, USC 全部都是tax track


研究生的GPA重要么? 如何build research experience, UW 居然没有tax方向的professor (教undergrad的全部都是高级讲师ORZ),找其他方向的professor做research也可以?


GMAT要考到多少?


Acctg Phd的placement如何?


还有一个很二的问题,因为律师也是有税务方向的,我到底应该念B School Phd还是Law School JD.?

try to get more than 730, that would be enough for most schools.

placement is fine, but huge variance.

in terms of green card, 外f is a much easier way.

If I were you, I would rather apply phd program directly since your undergraduate study is in the states and you are majoring in accounting. Getting a master degree won't benefit you a lot in applying phd program. So either working for 1 or 2 years or applying phd program directly. Focus on top 50 schools, although I think you have a big chance to be admitted in top 30 schools. Try to apply more, I mean more than 15, to avoid no offer due to bad luck.

他说的是ads现在给美国人或者永居奖学金来读act的博士，这样学校就不用给这些人奖学金，所以他们申请公立学校比你有优势的多得多，而申请私利学校难度又很大，你的明白？

accounting Phd 就业很不好?我们学校的华人教授说,会计教授目前还供不应求,最差的情况回到中国国内也是很受欢迎的.
