Can anyone give some ideas on school selection in U.S.?Or am I qualified to apply? I appreciated it!
Background: Undergraduate: None related. Graduate: MBA and M.S. Financial Engineering in U.S. Layer 3 University. GMAT and GPA: 3.5+ 700+ Work experience: None related Two Years. Recommendation: Possibly one or two strong recommendations for an "Ok" research professor in Finance. Paper:Not Yet.
Anything I can do to better shape myself? No idea is bad..please share!!! Thank you!
by the way, you have any research experience? even as a RA? if yes, that might help a little bit

About the RA, has it to be tired up to the specific program, like what I did fit the professor of target program? What RA experience will help? Like, using SAS, or some stat package....here Pls be specific..thanks.
you said your work experience is not finance-related, so it does not help you in your case. as for interviews, it depends on the schools, but you can think of the prior probability being about 5%-10% on average (top 50), and if you get good stuff (GPA, GMAT, RLs and the other things I mentioned), your posterior probability is revised upwards.
check out some top 50 programs and take a look at the CHINESE students' profiles.. honestly, there is not much in your background that can make you stand out (quality of undergrad and grad, GPA, GMAT, econ/math background, RLs)...

How about interview? the weight, if any, for enrollment? Or it weights more than anything you mentioned above? One more thing...work experience in U.S. helps or it is a "downer"?
