Dear Dong,
I am writing today to make you aware of two master degree programs in Supply Chain Management - both developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL).
MLOG: Master of Engineering in Logistics Program in Cambridge, Massachusetts ZLOG: Master of Engineering in Logistics Program in Zaragoza, Spain
MLOG and ZLOG programs are focused alternatives to a standard general business MBA. And there is still time to apply for Fall 2010 and qualify for full and partial scholarships, fellowships, and financial aid! Plus, since you've already applied to an MIT graduate program, the application fee is waived and the application process is simplified.
So, why might the MLOG/ZLOG programs be the right choice for you instead of a standard MBA? Here are just three reasons.
Incredible Return on Investment: The intensive MLOG and ZLOG programs last just 9 months versus the standard 2-year MBA, so MLOG/ZLOG students pay dramatically less total tuition and sacrifice less than one year's income. More importantly, as demand for experts in Supply Chain Management grows, so do the salaries. The MIT MLOG graduating class increases their median salary by 50 percent over the course of the program!
Number One Ranking: US News and World Report has ranked MIT first among all graduate business programs in the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management for the past several years.
Leadership Opportunities in a Growing Field: Globalization has driven supply chain management to the forefront of business strategy. More companies come to our programs each year to interview and recruit their future leaders. Graduates are employed by firms as diverse as Amazon, Apple, Cisco Systems, Nestle, McKinsey Consulting, Accenture, Shell, Target, Google, Schlumberger and IBM - not to mention numerous entrepreneurial start ups.
You can find more information on each of our programs at http://ctl.mit.edu/education. Also, if you are interested in combining the MLOG/ZLOG degree with an international MBA, you can take advantage of our dual degree programs with the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain (www.ie.edu) and INCAE in Costa Rica (www.incae.edu).
To be considered for admissions to either of these programs, you need to submit:
1. A current resume and 2. A short (500 word maximum) essay describing a Supply Chain Management or Logistics issue that you are interested in researching or learning more about.
But you need to act fast!   lease send these as attachments in an e-mail directly to mlog@mit.edu by Thursday, March 18, 2010. You will be considered for both programs unless you write "MLOG application only" or "ZLOG application only" in the subject line of your e-mail.
Because we can access your previously submitted application file directly, the application fee has been waived and there is no need for you to resubmit any letters of recommendation, test scores, or transcripts. Also, the admission results will be turned around fast.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly. We look forward to talking with you about the MLOG and ZLOG programs. Sincerely,
Dr. Jarrod Goentzel Executive Director, MLOG goentzel@mit.edu
Marija Milenkovic Executive Director, ZLOG mmilenkovic@zlc.edu.es PS: This message is being sent to you because of your interest in an MIT graduate school program.
