I don't think u need to retake TOEFL if u don't aim to very top schools or if  the school has a special requirement for TOEFL, that is good enough
hi, shiweiseabird. I guess we follow a similar path. Here is my background.
GMAT 750, TOEFL: 105 (will retake); computer science master degree with 4y oversea sales/marketing experience in Telecom industry.
I'm applying a MBA in Japan since i consider to include Japan in my future Phd study. I'm interested in research of strategy and entrepreneurship(venture capital). I sent a sms to you for my email address. I'm glad to know you.

i didn't do well in speaking section and quite a few universities also require speaking score to be above 26. I need to retake it since i only target at top schools in the future.  TOEFL is important in strategy applicaiton.

boum, thanks for your suggestion. There's something i didn't mention previously. Actually I've good academic record and consolidated research experience. I've pubished papers in chinese domestic journal and International Journal(and conference) with quite heavy data analysis in my post-graduate.
Regarding to Phd in strategy, I did some research and found that universities prefer strategy Phd students who have industrial experiences. Industrial experiences can help to understand company's strategy better or i should say it helps to build some feelings about strategy. Besides, standard master degree in business rarely includes the course of strategy and entrepreneurship, by contraries, which are core/popular courses in MBA. While MBA usually prefers candidates with work experiences.  To sum up, it's just a matter how to leverage your previous experience and win the tought game of Phd application.  I don't see my advantage agaist flesh graduates from top universities for the application of Finance/marketing/MIS. In addition, i really like the topics of strategy and entrepreneurship.
I will read related professors' papers but i still have full-time job and am preparing for the MBA interview. So first thing first. But anyway, good to know some different ideas.

Although I am not a strategy applicant, I want to say something.  Together with other CDers, I think your background is a little far from a researcher's. Maybe strategy phd students should have industrial experiences. I just dunno.   I think your G/T is quite high and you have abundant work experiences. What I concern is your research background.  Can you deal with conceptual models? As far as I know, one stream of entrepreneurial research focuses on organizational studies. I am really confused. If I was you, I would like to go through targeted professors' research papers and try my best to understand the research methodologies and paper writing processes. Sorry, I just give a recommendation based on my personal experiences in applying for phd programs in MIS.
