finance phD项目比较

想求问各位同学，Cornell finance phD，UT-Austin Finance phD，Washington in St.Louis, 以及Michigan 相比档次如何，因为看到UT-Austin placement教职都找的很不错，但是这几个学校的ranking都波动性，不知道学术界对这些学校都是怎么看的？谢谢各位了！本人17年申请finance phD哈哈

谢谢建议！感觉小的program interaction更充分一些不过USC也不错

对了，选校还有一个是看你喜欢大系还是小一点的系，我个人偏爱小的PROGRAM。觉得系里人多人少还是挺值得纳入考虑范围的，在挑选offer时候

相对来讲 Austin 对中国学生不是很nice。 Cornell 也算top 15 虽然也在下滑, 和 Roni Michaely, Murillo Campello 打过交道，人都挺nice，如果做corporate的话。 USC 现在不成了corporate大系了吗，人多钱多，ranking 持续上升。 Washington St louis 总体风格不在我的偏好内..

Thank you so much for your suggestion!!! It is really helpful to me. Yeah, they are all highly competitive programs. And UT-Austin seems to have an indeed high level of research performance and the placement in academia looks really nice. I totally agree with you on UMich because it was keeping a good reputation although seems not strong as before. Actually, I have one additional question. May I ask what's your opinion towards the USC finance Ph.D. compared to such programs above? Thank you so much for your help!!

These are all decent programs. Overall, I would say that Wash U is probably the strongest on this list. Cornell would be good if you want to do theory or microstructure. UMich used to be good, but Nagel just left for Chicago. Not familiar with Austin, but it should also be a good program.

But be aware that these programs may be, in some sense, as hard as top 10 econ PhD programs to get into due to the nature of finance PhD programs, having extremely small cohorts.
