HEC MIF accelerated track addmitted

一直在论坛上收获很多, 刚刚被录取来回报下社会.
网上关于HEC MIF AT track 的经验不多, 我来补充一下: 不是只有 TOP2和港中文才有戏. AT track也不在意你之前是否有金融背景.
楼主打算申请是7月份, 报了gmat, 一个月把GMAT考掉以后, 9月可以说对金融还是一无所知的状态. 那时候只看了一本闲书 a random walk down wallstreet. 我不知道投行里都是做啥的(现在还是一知半解), 然后看了vault guide to IB, 开始给自己编CAREER PATH. 其实楼主一开始只是想转行, 后来在看书的时候才发现金融经济还挺有趣的. 总之, AT TRACK并不在意你是否有金融背景. 我自己感觉他们在意你的成绩, 学习能力(gpa,ranking,gmat, honors..the whole academic package), 数理基础(因为面视问了我一个diffusion equation, but it is related to my backgroup, not for all candidates), diverse backgroud (one bachelor in China, in chemistry/ one engineering in physics in france, it seems HEC do care diversity), reasonable career path (equity research for me), passion (determination)

Interview as follows:
1. self-introduction
2. why finance?
3. one professor walk to blackboard and write down a diffusion equation out of no expect... and i said, i learned this thing, i knew how to solve it both analytically and numerically, but i forget
4. How is today's market - actually, 这个梗是我自己引的,早上看了wsj. 我感觉整个面视很随意,随意到都是我在找点,然后给自己挖坑...
5. How do u think the influence of FRED rasing interest on stock. - maybe not good? 编了下理由..然后两个面视馆互相看了以下
6. A fundemental test, what exactly is the interes that the Fred is to rase? - i said that's a question i have been wondering..may be the interest interbank?
7. u have a really good academic backgroud. how u connect them with finance. - 我刚想说做化学require carefulness, and..被打断, 说除了skill sets 呢; 然后那个教授开始长篇大论我也没听懂, 我就点头 yes, exactly, 事后觉得我当时简直是一点不懂强行附和. fianlly, i added that i can focus on industry like energy, oil, gas, chemicals, semi-conductor..他们满意了.
8. how was you doing in the master in paris- This tpoic was in French. 我说我们学校都是用法语,强调自己快速学习能力和适应能力.9. applied to any other schools?- No, just HEC.
10. Why your second choice is management and strategy?- Because i wanted to make some differences between the two. And actually if i will be admitted to second choice, i think i would turn it down and try to find a internship and get a return offer.

Actually during the interview i was quite at ease but later it turns out to be that at that time i didn't realize they were challanging me, LOl

所以和另外2个 bt track的同学相比, 我真的是对金融 一无所知..
My experiences are maily for those who are interested in HEC MIF AT track, and, not from the so-called target school and being a financial greener is no problem.
I am sorry for mixing eng and ch, for i am typing in a french company..
