GMAT 720 iBt 113 4yr

先说说我自己的情况，本科是国内IT一个学校一本和英国学校的双学位，GPA大概3.5左右，GMAT 720 + 5.5，Tofel 113 小分都在26以上，2年在世界500强跨国企业，做工程的specialist和PM Director助手，剩下2年在family business 做Marketing Director 外加一些二级市场上市并购准备的工作。

Reference是以前MNC的老板，老板是北美Top 10 MBA毕业的，还有一封国内最大基金公司老板的推荐信。

问一下想明年入学的话，2nd round还来得及吗？比较偏向纽约和加州地区的学校，Top 15的，有没有很大机会？

希望各位给点意见

Well the outline you have presented here seems like a good logical chain, although to be entirely honest, it’s hard to judge without reading the essay itself.

I'm only one step away from submitting my applications. But I'm still a bit concern about the contents I wrote in my essays.

They key questions asked by most schools are why MBA, why School, long-term-and short-term goals, etc.
As I'm planning my long term goal in a specific industry and wants to expand my company, my essay structures to answer these questions like this:

1. Long term goal and why?
2. Understanding of the industry made me realize a MBA is necessary
3. Three achievements I have done to drive change of my business, but School can help me make it better. Here I mentioned School's resources, courses, strengths, etc. that match my vision.
4. Short term goal is the first step of my long term goal after MBA
5. Efforts I have made to know schools, e.g. info session, campus visits, alumni chat, etc.

Now, do you think this talks too much of the professional works and schools? Anything missing here? Most of the contents are about my  business as that's my long term plan. Do you think I should also gave an example of my MNC experience.

In terms of my personal expression essays, I emphasize on volunteering works and special projects I have done.

Good question!
I think the sources you have mentioned are great. And it is absolutely fantastic that you have both visited and contacted alumni! Many people miss out on this, and it will help you greatly. Other than what you mentioned I would say you try and browse through some student blogs which might give you some nice “inside information” and make sure you dig deep!

My test scores are in place with my target schools and I'm taking 2 weeks off for my essays right now.
I looked at all the suggestions that you have made for all the applicants in ChaseDream and they are very very helpful. Thank you so much for that. Those posts have already solved a lot of my concerns.

In fact, last year, when I was doing a business trip to the states, I had a tour to visit some of my target schools campus and attended their info sessions of full time MBA programs.

Regarding of essay writing and to get to know the schools better, apart from the info sessions, talking with the ad-officers and alumni, carefully looking at the schools website, etc, any other places to have more info about that? Like is there any other websites or forum like Chase Dream? Mabye something from the states? I know some of the applicants have paid for the US News Rankings to check the salary and some info, I have that but it's a bit generic. I know, Chase Dream has a lot material, but I don't want to miss other info if there is.

I'll definitely shoot you some questions when I'm finalizing my applications if you don't mind.
