小女纠结LSE FIN&ECON VS. Imperial college MSF，求建议

大家好呀，最近一直在纠结LSE FIN&ECON和帝国理工MSF要去哪个的问题。这两个我都好喜欢肿么办，但是又不可以两个都读，好纠结。
这两个项目的相同点：历史悠久，都在15年左右；课程都比较量化; class size都是80人左右
下面是两个项目的对比：（Tiffany个人收集，也许有不正确的地方，欢迎大家指出）
1. 排名：LSE金融专排第四，帝国理工综排全球第八（金融专排46）。
2. 闪光点：LSE进去之后成绩好可以转专业，小女喜欢私募的那节课，也许可以转过去？imperial college的MSF与CFA有联系，CFA partner of the CFA Institute and a Centre of Excellence for Finance by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)。
3. 生源：LSE是名校控，帝国理工的那个有收一些非名校的大神。
4. faculty: LSE的这个项目的老师毕业于：University of Chicago，Carnegie Mellon University，Duke, Yale, Columbia, Princeton,Harvard, MIT, standford等等。帝国理工MSF上显示的faculty比较少，directorara Cathcart holds a Master’s degree and PhD in Finance from Birkbeck College, University of London.Dr Robert Kosowski holds a BA (First Class Honours) and MA in Economics from Trinity College, Cambridge University, and a MSc in Economics and PhD from the London School of Economics.Karim Abadir holds a DPhil from Oxford University and an MA and BA from the American University in Cairo.
5. 时间：LSE 10个月，IC 12个月
6. 学费：LSE23,064磅， IC32,000磅
7. 校友：LSE 15个诺奖，42位国家政府首脑，华人知名校友也有很多--费孝通，徐志摩，徐子淇; imperial college  Business School network has over 12,500 alumni;
8. placement: LSE没有单独program,只有整个finance department的。Average starting salary: 40800磅，91.5% employed or in further education 6 months after graduation. 帝国理工93% of MSc Finance 2014 graduates were employed within six months of completing the programme 81% of our 2015 graduates had secured a job before completing the programme.

無論從任何一點看都是LSE. IC is of no match of LSE in terms of business school.
corproate fina又好, and indeed also any generla finance role. given what you have is a FE offer, this also holds for academics, i.e. PhD.

我能想到的唯一例外是, 有人想走quantitaitve, 但是拿了LSE MSc Fina VS IC RMFE.

1. Unless the role is a really technical one, the employer won't care if it is a MSc Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting or etc.........what they are interested in about a candidate is mainly not what they learnt from books/lecture, but their passion, knowledge about the industry.

2. Of course it is not rare that technical skills in asked in interview. This can varies from financial modeling, quantitative method, and etc.....while really depends on which division one is applying to. Imagine what will an equity research vs a risk analyst role interview can be different.

3. Surly LSE is better reputation and has a bigger network in the city, when compared to IC Business school. But given that both of them are enough to get one an interview, this doesn't matter much - at the end one get a job because of oneself instead of the name of a school, which is useful for CV check only.

4. LSE is a economics school before being a business school, i.e. MSc Fina & Econ is more prestige than their MSc Fina. But definitely the Microeconomics class in the MSc Fina & Econ is useless one plan to do a PhD. (if one use the class size logic stated in #18, LSE MSc Fina: 93, MSc Fina Econ: 57)

同学你好，谢谢你的回复。请问你为什么觉得项目招生的质量是ic的msc finance更胜一筹呢？而且我被录取的项目不是LSE的Msc finance哦，而是他们的MSc finance and economics(比MSF量化一些）。其实我还在纠结这个问题，目前定位是回国找工作的。

嗯呢是的，这个项目没有占坑费

楼主首先恭喜。然后作为在uk生活了三年的人，我说一下，lse的msc finance和ic的msc finance分别是两个学校最顶尖的专业。这两个项目，再加上UCL的msc econ基本和oxbridge一个申请难度的项目。而且本身想靠一个商科msc项目就留在uk也是基本不可能，想彻底体验uk大学生活更不可能。对于msc学生，我和我的哥们儿之前有个总结，戏称所有来uk读一年硕士的为“一年制”。跑题了，其实如果从你以后的职业生涯规划说，这两个学校并无太大区别。如果仅从项目招生质量来说，ic的msc finance项目更胜一筹。楼上有些从没去uk读过书的同学在这里各种站队我也是醉了。你所讨论的学校历史，有多少诺奖，校园文化等等，这是本科应该考虑的问题。一年制msc课程，就是为了你找工作时候多一个筹码。无论哪个学校的商学院，他们最希望的就是招到一个最有可能毕业后直接进bulge bracket的人，然后项目整体就业好，促进宣传，来年招更多的学生，从而赚钱。但是在每个学校这么多的项目中，也会有一两个是真正的招牌，就是不扩招。而lse和ic的msc finance都是，ucl的msc econ也是。除去oxbridge，uk的这三个项目还是维持了一个小规模人数，高就业率，高就业质量，高招生质量的情况。以上，纯个人愚见

不難理解：
無論IC 便宜多少，學生都不會去IC 而會去了oxbridge lbs lse,  所以這些學校收幾錢關係不大。

要比較，就要和ucl warwick 比較…

I cannot really understand why IC has much higher tuition than LSE. Some people said that IC was quite rich so they can invite many practitioners in finance indistry, such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley,  to give guest lectures.
