tpo :do you think life today are more easier and more comfortable than that in your grandparents'time?

Thanks to the advanced technology, dramatical changes have taken place nowadays. Transportation system and communication system appear an utterly new look,intensifying the link between people to people . Skyscrapers spring up ,dotting our city with a signal of prosperity. Modern machines enter our life ,making it more easier and more efficient. Some negative consequence,however, follows . From my point of view,taken both ,positive and negative influences ,into account,, current life which is unattainable in previous age becomes more overwhelming and more compelling .

First, updated transportation system and communication system make people more intimate and closer. Neither the long-distance journey nor the limitation of people’foots now can restrict people. Planes ,trains ,cars ,buses and ships emerge and overcome these difficulties,allowing people to go to wherever  they like to within very short time. Additionally, face-to-face communication fails to dominate the communication system any more. With the invention of cell phones and internet, people can talk with friends and families whenever they want and however long distance is  between them . Moreover,to some extent, it flourishes our economy . without these convenient systems ,  commodity cannot be transported from place to place and  businessmen have no way to communicate with each other .  There is no deny that two improved systems shorten people’ distance geographically and psychologically and uplift the well-being of society mentally and physically.

Second,myriad of  new equipments facilitate people not only in daily life but also in work or study. Useful tools with amazing functions,such as computers,air conditions and so on ,flourish  around the contemporary. By using computers, we can relax ourselves after work by playing some computer games and acquire informations or make a plan during working-time. With regards to air conditions ,It warms people during cold winter and cools people during hot summer,showing up both in workplace and in people’ cozy house. Once i heard from my grandparents, the winter in their age without air condition is too freezing to go out .They had to hide in their house going through every tedious and long winter and some poor people even died from it. It is grateful to say the bitter time won’t bother people anymore since so many fantastic innovations have occur.

However, the modern life losses some valuable things existing in previous life. One of the most wonderful but missing things is friendly environment. Gone are the days  of fresh air,  limpid sea, lush forest and abundant species. Pollution and extinction draw the contemporary’s attention. Fortunately, measures have been taken immediately to deal with these issues . For one thing , scientist works hard to seek for clean energy and invent environmental-friendly machines. For another, government conduct a series of laws and regulations to oblige factories to protect environment. Confidently,the beautiful missing will come back.

To sum up,compared with the time when my grandparents were alive, life today is more colorful and more comfortable. But people still keep an keen eye on following side-effects and cope with them in time.
