求教：有多少中国人MBA毕业进Consulting的？

想向各位在读的MBA前辈请教，我正在申请，因为是industry出身的，计划毕业后进consulting,给企业做management/strategy consulting.  我在美国，想留在这里做consulting几年。   我听说中国人进consulting很难，因为语言和文化的限制。是真的吗？ 请问有多少中国的MBA找到consulting的工作呀？

No one can answer your questions.  If you want to enter top MC firms, you need graduate from tie-1 school (i.e. an Ivy League-level school) or from top-15 MBA program.  You may need find a consulting job first in tie2-3 consulting firm => top MBA program => top MC firm => job X.

Frankly, MC may not be your best choice because of risk (on average, people spend 18 months on top MC).  If I were you, I will try to switch companies in same industry (go to companies near metropolitan area); then read a part-time MBA & look for opportunities;

That is good suggeston.Thank you so much. Actually I am living in big city and thinking about part-time MBA now. There is a top 15 school near me. Doe you mean if I get the MBA from that top 15 school, maybe I get a chance to go to consulting. Otherwise, I should start with tier 2-3 consulting?

Thank you. I did analyze myself and realize IB is not for me. Since I come from industry and I am good at analytical thinking, I believe consulting is for me. I read many case interview documents and I love them.

你说你能不能进consulting这样的问题谁能回答你？就算top1mba也不一定能进。这个问题问的没法回答。

中国人留在北美做consulting的确非常难，哪怕是hbs/wharton出来的也一样，-不过在北美呆了好些年的要好一些。这个不是能力的问题，纯粹是文化/语言/商业背景的问题。可是，如果你有国内工作的经验又认同回国做consulting，那么会容易很多，尤其是M7的，国内firm很认的，能做成的比例非常高。

至于换同一产业公司/parttime MBA什么的方法，不太建议-太浪费时间。直接申请好的学校吧，只要进了top-tier schools，机会会有很多。不要怕take risk，时间就是金钱和生命。

个人意见，仅供参考。

谢谢你的建议。因为我是在美国读的ph.d,工作也在这里，所以想在美国的consulting做一段时间，一连年吧，然后可能会国发展。看来势必要读MBA了。等我MBA毕业就来美十年多了，希望可以解决语言文化问题。
