【已google，无解】请教prep2012-pack1-sc-032，非常感谢

google过，只有gmatclub里有人提问过这题，但是几个跟帖的印度同学也没说出来个所以然，特贴出来求教。（该不会是因为这题太弱了，所以没人问吧。。。

）
另，不知道在论坛的这个位置，这样发帖问问题，是否符合规范。。如果有问题我会速速修正的~

我想问下为什么B不行？
这里涉及到什么知识点吗？to和both...and的位置关系？有这么一个知识点吗？

1、its多余，可以排除B选项了。
2、B里面both和and之间内容太长。如果改成both to... and to...更有助于读者对句子的解读。

大致意思是
一汽车公司，将最近的增长利润归因于一个事儿and 另一个事儿
A，attribute ... to both .... and to ....  这样的话both...and...前后不并列，干掉
B，没有A的问题，先留着
C，问题同A，干掉
D和E的both...and... 前后都有to，挺并列，留着；
此时留下B，C，D，对比此三个选项，需要看细了
B选项中，and前后不并列，因为前面是its introduction，后面却是its  making，干掉
D，and前面是its introduction，and后面是success，前后都是名词，但是这个句子仍然很恶心，不好说有错误，先留着
E，and前面用its introducing ；and后面用success，  动词和名词无法并列，干掉
所以，忍着恶心，选了D.....

谢谢~！！解释里面说its不好，不并列，我一直盯着introduction前面的its，想了半天也不知道为什么这个its不好。
原来后面还有一个its，竟然没意识到！！恍然大悟！显然这个its去掉更好。

不过补充提问一下，its 加 v-ing 这样的用法不好是吗？那这句表达本身对吗？success in its making its factories。

嗯，both to... and to... 这种回味一下貌似是好一点点。。。这种感觉略微妙啊。。。做题瞬间体会不到

哇~好详细的解题步骤思路~还挺有意思的，这么解题感觉很欢乐哈哈~谢谢~！！
但是有疑问呐，B项本身表达的意思是 its introduction 和 success 并列的说，而不是 its introduction 和 its making并列，那这样的话就不能按你说的排除B了喔
解释上说的是 The words to both introduce a series of two objects of the preposition to. While technically the phrases its introduction... and success in... might be considered parallel noun phrases, the use of the possessive its twice in the second phrases in positions that are not parallel with the appearance of its in the first phrase is both awkward and circuitous.
（PDF没法复制，纯手打，心酸。。）
这段话我昨天看的时候理解错了，所以一直在纠结 its introduction里的its，而没有注意到 success in its 里的its，这样的话就能排除了

以后解题也要这么欢乐噢耶~

我能想起来的官方资料（我只看过OG13和PREP2008

)里面"所有格 + doing"的用法只有
在OG13的第120题的正确答案中出现过：
“a phenomenon that most scientists agree is caused by human beings' burning of fossil fuels”。
其它类似用法在官方资料中基本都被认为是错的。
我记得Ron在一个帖子里说这种情况下之所以可以用所有格，是因为human being不是整个句子的主语。
所以应该是说“所有格 + doing”的形式只有在这个所有格不是指代句子的主语时候才有可能正确。
