讨论一下，大家觉得读MBA是Part time的好还是Full Time好呢？（不必考虑护照问题）

If we don't consider the financial impact, it is up to your career goal. A PT program could hardly help you switch career but may help you with your promotion in your current workplace if your employer has arranged a career path for you. The career center of some b-schools even doesn't offer service to PT students. However, A FT program could open more doors for you from this perspective.

如果不想换工作，只求晋升的话读emba也挺好，连GMAT都不用考。

在美国，现在PT或者Executive的项目名字蛮乱的。有些叫EMBA但并不意味着有很多资历很深的大龄人士，包括Wharton的也是这种情况，同学都蛮年轻的，有不少28，29岁的executives

。不过Wharton EMBA也是可以作为Job switcher的选择的。像包括校园招聘啥的也是对EMBA开放的，但是如果公司出钱的那些学生，学校就不允许用FT的那些career资源咯。我觉得在美国工作的，可以考虑PT/EMBA，机会成本比较低，downside就是可能会有点累，一边读书一边工作。

Wharton、Yale、Columbia、Duke都要考GMAT的，上课内容应该和FT没差别，只是format是周末的。MIT、Kellogg、Booth等等EMBA偏向于Networking为主，同学抬头都很大的，年纪也大，不用考GMAT的，或许课程本身有点waterdown，但认识的人可能比较有用。看需求了。

如果资历和经济条件允许，建议读EMBA, 不仅因为工作经验，更因为接触的圈子和普通MBA不在一个档次，许多MBA的学生会想方设法接触EMBA学生安排工作… EMBA可以参加所有MBA的社交活动，但MBA不可以参加EMBA的…

虽然课程内容一样，但和不同领域经验丰富的同学学习远胜于仅仅听老师讲课。

EMBA通常单位会资助一部分，加上没有机会成本，经济上比MBA划算得多。

Thanks to your kind help. My profile as follows, could you pls provide some advice on how to choose my target business school and program.
7 years foreign bank working experience in commercial banking.
(top performance and 3 years management experience)
Bachelor of finance.
Master of finance (211/985)
GMAT 750
GPA 3.8
I will obtain the green card in 2015.

Hello!
Well, I got some good news for you! I think that with your profile, Top 10 schools look to be in range! I mean, I’d need a biiiiiit more detail to be sure, but so far things look good.

So aim for Finance programs in the Top 10 (HBS, MIT, Booth, NYU, Columbia, Haas) and maybe Johnson or Tepper as backup schools.

As for Full-time vs. PT, it depends if you prefer to take two years off work, or if you prefer to continue working and do your MBA while at work.
