Title: It is more likely for people with more skills to succeed? The competition nowadays is fierce, so that many parents compel their children to acquire more skills to gain advantages over others. They believe that the more skills a person has, the more likely they will succeed. However, what is the definition of success? In my opinion, without a clear definition of success, we could not get access to the conclusion. Different people have different definition of success; Some people may think that having a good job is success. In this case, having more skills could not help people more succeed People get good job because the quality of the people is suit for the job, but not because people have more skills. For example, if a person wants to be a doctor, Singing well wouldn’t help him/her cure more people, thus he/she should concentrate on improving his/her medical skills instead of learning more skills such as singing, dancing, or driving. Another definition of success that widely accepted by people is living a happy life. In this case, having more skills will not lead people to success either. On the contrary, people learning more skills may be too busy to enjoy life. A good case in the point is that many young children live unhappy as their parents make them to learn many skills. Although parents is on the behalf of children, unfortunately, results is not what we expect. The children get more and more stressful with so heavy burden, and they lose the fun of childhood they should have. Admittedly, having more skills make people stand out among the crowd and win the respect of others. I always admire the people who have many skills. However, that does not mean success. Even though I am so ordinary that I do not with any skills, I still think that I am success because I have many good friends. All in all, we should make the definition of success clear before reaching the conclusion. And in both definitions, whether a people is success does not depend on how many skills he/she have.
