C. fatty foods are consumed by people in France at a comparable rate to the United States's, their这里their指的是people in France把后面的句子补全就是their death rates from heart disease are far lower in France than in the US 就people in France在France的death rates from heart disease比people in France在美国的death rates from heart disease低...改变句子原意。我觉得这个选项不好看出错误，因为their是全部指代，不光指people，指的是people in France

D. the rate of fatty foods consumed in France and the United States is about the same, the这里rate应该用复数吧

E. the rate of people consuming fatty foods is about the same in France and the United States, the这里完全改变原意了，成了the rate of people(后置定语) 有多少人consume fatty foods与fatty foods被consume，这是两种不同rates

their指代fatty foods--不同意。逻辑指代比位置指代重要一些。

B。同意。although从句逻辑主语不需和句子主语一致。

C.觉得不是本题的考点。

D。不同意。the rate 后面修饰的in France and the United States 视作一个整体，看不出比较的意思。却还要is about the same。也就是说，一个rate无法比较。

E。除D的问题外，还有一个：the rate of people consuming fatty foods 是the rate of people，改变愿意。

C中的their的别外一個問題是如果their是指代people in France's, 那後半句會變成
people in France's death rates from heart disease are far lower in France
有點像在說people in France在不同國家會有不同的death rates from heart disease

D里面the rate of fatty foods consumed...应该是the rate of consuming fatty foods.因为不是foods的rate，而是消耗的rate.除了rate要用复数外,US前面要加in.
同样的E里面the rate of people不合理.
A，C用了their指代people in France和后面的in France重复了:
the death rates from heart disease of people in France are far lower in France.

B. 正确。

C. their错，同A；被动的使用awkward.特别是at a comparable rate to the United States's。
