请问，为什么B选项中的the United States 前面不加上in呢？ 这样会不会有歧义啊？成了people和United States比了

D the rate of fatty foods consumed in France and the United States is about the same, the，
the rate in France and the United States不构成对比，那么B也不对了啊，B里面也有people in France and the United States
B people in France and the United States consume fatty foods at about the same rate, the

所以D选项的错误原因应该是别的吧。个人感觉the rate of consuming fatty food这个解释更合理。

难道是动词后面的并列介词应该补出，而名词后面的不用么？像OG中的这一道（也是PREP227）就补出了on。

另外，最新的2008语法笔记里说：
their为完全指代，故their指代people in France, 代入句中即death retes of people in France…are far lower in France，语义重复

什么叫完全指代呢？代词都要可以用所指代的词替换放入检验正确性么？

哈哈，刚刚在Manhattan看到了关于这题的评论，发现CDers都太纠结结构的问题了
这道题目的意思是这样的：
D选项中的“the rate of fatty foods consumed in France and the United States”的意思是法国人和美国人吃“rate” 而不是吃“food”，不符合逻辑，所以排除选E

关于这个原题有个疑问，lower省略了比较级，...the death rates from heart disease are far lower in France. 个句子补齐了是the death rates from heart disease are far lower in France (than in the United States)吗？

这个句型很特别啊，如果是省略了than the death rate... in the United States is的话，那么than前面应该是the death rate...is far lower, 而不能用复数了
