The lecture apparently disputes the points illustratedin the reading material. According to the passage, there are incalculable merits of the fossil. However, yet none of themregard in the eye of the lecture.
First of all, the reading passage points out thatthe soft substance inside the bone may be the blood vessels. In contrast, the professor claimsthat the soft flexible sustenance might not be blood vessels, because long after the dinosaur died, bacteria mightcolonize in the channels in bone and they would leave behind traces of organicmaterial. So the lecture totally disagrees with the view made in thereading passage.
Second, the passage demonstratesthat the spheres could be the red blood cells in inner bone. In the lecture,the professor admits that researchers also found similar spheres in thefossils of primitive animals, which are discovered at the same place, but theseprimitive animals don’t have blood cells, so the spheres might just be thepieces of reddish minerals or something else.
Finally, the passage raises the issue that theleg bone contained collagen. The professor opposesto the writer's expectation. He asserts collagen can not last longer than100000 years, but dinosaurs live 70 million years ago, so the collagen maybelong to the scientists’ skin who excavated the fossil, content thatexplicitly(明确地) contradicts that passage.
