我选的A，答案选的E。OG给A的一个解释是 The main point of the sentence is that Dickinson's letters to her sister-in-law outnumber her letters to anyone else. To emphasize the point, outnumber should be the main verb.
于是我就困惑了... 平常都是把A选项表达的意思作为句子重心的参考，可是为什么这里反而是说A选项的main point不对呢？以及怎么从题干推出了如上的main point呢？求NN解答，赐我敢继续相信A选项的力量吧！！感激不尽

如果我遇到这道题，我也会选A。E中主语和动词离得忒远了点，而且E中的outnumber有时态不一致的嫌疑。

至于句子的main point到底是什么，这实在是很微妙的问题。

这个题必然是选E，因为A根本不合逻辑，E才能表达完整的意思，即ED给SHD的信数量超过了给其他任何人的信。本题的重心就是letters，作为outnumber的主语，而中间那长长的一串都只是其状语。A的结构明显不如E的更清晰

刚发现OG12的21题和26题有一样的考点
现在分词放在句末，应当表达出谓语动词的伴随效果或者结果，如果没有这种明确的意思的话，那么现在分词所修饰的对象就不清楚。这两个题OG的解释也是一个意思的。嗯。

我觉得很有道理，26题里were written和outnumber没有明显的伴随关系（manhattan说伴随要发生在同一时间），所以outnumbering修饰的对象就是不清楚的，所以A的逻辑就不太能说清楚，manhattan说如果原句的逻辑清楚的话就不要改变原意，但是这题A的逻辑是不清楚的，所以就需要改变原意

我的一点想法，希望大家多多讨论

A的问题是：【,V-ing】结构，有两种用法：1. 伴随状语 2. 结果状语

如果是伴随状语，即表示V-ing结构中的动词和主句动词同时发生，并且暗含两个动词主语相同。所以若是伴随状语的话，就是letters were written,同时letters outnumber。但其实常理上，这两个不能同时发生的，应该是这些信written后的结果是导致这些信件outnumber了，因此伴随状语不好。。

如果是结果状语，那就意味着是主句整句话，导致outnumber的结果，而且outnumber的主语是主句整句，而非只是主句主语。那A就变成【这些信被她在这个时间段写导致出的结果是outnumber】

但这样的话，主语又不对。因为outnumber的主语应该只是【信件】，但如果做结果状语，语法要求主语应该是主句整句话，【这些信件在这个时间段被写】，所以其实结果状语也不对。。

但其实，这么分析考试时候并没那么长时间。仍然是句意为王，要去看句子到底想强调什么表达什么，在这个基础上再钻研语法才对~ ：）
