Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A person’s childhood years(the time from birth to twelve years of age) are the most important years of a person’s life. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
正文:
It is true that the childhood for each person is of great consequence, however, I cannot approve that the childhood is just the most significant phase of an individual’s life. And it is really hard to declare which period of humans’ life, such as the quoted childhood in the title, or the teenage, or the adulthood, is more vital than any other one. We can just admit that they are all necessary and essential in every person’s life.’
Admittedly, childhood should be deeply honored, in that it gives persons’ primitive knowledge about life and is a crucial time for people to form their word value, life value and living attitude. Since no people are born with wisdom, they naturally, through various ways, absorb knowledge as much as they can. For example, children’s parents will tell them how to manage their everyday work; their teachers will instruct them what to study and how to get along with others; their friends will also influence them via different kinds of methods. And all of the above is the basic necessity for every person who must spend his or her left life in the complex word. So it is no wonder that some people, just as claimed in the title, consider the childhood as the most significant phase of their lives.
As a matter of fact, it is too absolute to evaluate, no matter the childhood or other periods of one’s life, to be “ the most important”. The reason is that there is no valid and widely accepted standard to assess the importance of the respective period of one’s life. Compared with the childhood, people in the teenage take further step to obtain more knowledge, more experience and more skills, which will build a systematical wisdom construction for their later striving for success. For instance, they begin to do their own things, make their own decision, and learn to live by themselves. Through such trainings, purposely or mindlessly, they gradually obtain the necessary living ability for their independence. Consequently, the teenage is no less important than the childhood.
And similar significance is also owned by other periods of lives. Take another example-----the adulthood-----to further illustrate this point. In these years, all people who want to achieve success try their best to head to their destination, no matter in the business field, or education zone, or any other realm. Through such effort they can probably reach their goals and then enjoy their success.
Thus, it is really unfair to say the childhood outweighs other periods of people’s lives in significance. Only through careful planning and hardworking in every phase can people finally live a real successful and meaningful life.
