9.15越来越近了~ 小猪猪提笔写了第三篇ISSUE~ 还望各位G友使劲儿拍拍~ 小猫这厢有礼了~
Issue108: Critical judgment of work in any given field haslittle value unless it comes from someone who is an expert in that field. 1. Are the critical judgments worth nothing unless they comefrom experts in a given field? A conclusion can be reached only after lengthydeliberation, weighing divergent opinions from every corner. Some would arguethat experts are rich with knowledge and experience and are prone to makevaluable critical judgments, but others would state that judgments from expertsoutside the field are also deserved evaluation. In my view, both judgments fromexperts outside or in the given field are critical to a certain issue, and anall sided-consideration is needed.
First and basically, I concede that critical judgments fromexperts in a given field tend to have certain merits. For one thing, experts in a given field havepossessed so adequate professional knowledge and rich experience that they areable to make valuable judgments. A persuasive example of this point is Mr.Qian, known as the father of missile in China. In an important missile test, the deformation of the shell of the missile caused a heated debate, which hadalmost ended the test. It was Mr. Qian, the most authoritative missile expertsat that time, pointed out that it was caused by the unbalance of the airpressure and the test should continue. Thanks to experts like Mr. Qian andtheir critical judgments, we have continuous breakthrough in science and engineering. Secondly, despite the merits of the speaker’s claim, however, I disagree with thestatement that judgments from experts outside the given field sound no sense. Infact, a complete resolution of some certain problems is impossible without thehelp of experts outside the given field, because of their complex interdisciplinary. The environment problem is an introductive example giving light to this point. To solve an environment problem, let say theselection of landfill site in a city, environmentalists need judgments frommeteorologists to judge the climate of a region on the effects of pollution, need judgments from zoologists to judge the impact on animals, and needjudgments from economists to judge their policy on the economic feasibility andbenefits. Without these judgments from experts outside the given field, one canmake no reasonable decisions. Finallyand most importantly, the statement fails to take into account the fact that expertsaren’t always right, and it’s wiser for one to consider judgments from the public. When it comes to market economy where consumers are the mainstay, manufacturersshould rely heavily on judgments from consumers when making marketing strategy, for such judgments usually imply the main demands of the market. Additionally, judgments from the public are also important when government officers makepolicies about improving social welfare and building infrastructure. Thesejudgments compensate for the limited rationality and cognition of our officersby reflecting the real needs of the masses and their rejection to be victims ofthe partisan struggle. Inconclusion, I would like to take the position that judgments from experts bothoutside and in the given field are deserved evaluation, and it’s usually unwisefor one to simply ignore judgments from the laity. Without critical judgmentsfrom experts in a given field, certain projects make little or no progress.Without critical judgments from people outside the given field, certainprojects remain to be vulnerable. |
