关于马里兰大学商学院"转系门"事件的官方解释

日前，有不少学生在申请马里兰大学商学院Finance program的过程中收到了学校方面这样的反馈：学校方面不能提供给学生Finance的录取资格，却可以提供supply chain或者information system专业的录取资格。

对于这种现象，很多同学表示了疑惑，典型的想法是supply chain和IS专业不够好，招不到学生，所以他们开始想要从finance挖角一些学生到他们专业。潜台词就是Finance专业比supply chain/Information system专业更好。

对于这种误解，商学院领导表示抱歉，以下是MSIS Program Director,Peter Weiss在邮件中对于这一问题的解释，他也委托我在chasedream发表相关信息，希望对产生的误解进行及时的解释。

原文如下：

Yes, we offered some of the "rejected" finance applicants the option to come to our MS/IS program.

The reason they got rejected is there is no room for them. The Finance dept. has a limited amount of faculty and cannot teach more than 180 students. there are also limited classrooms.

We thought we were being kind and offering these students (they still had to meet our GMAT/GPA/TOEFL requirements!) an option. They don't have to take it.

So... we somehow need to get the word out on RenRen and Facebook, etc. that the switch to MS/IS from Finance is due to lack of Faculty and classroom space for Finance Program. In addition, our requirements for admission are identical!!

对applicant来说，其实人家提供的就是一个option嘛，给多一个选择的权利而已啊~~不过学校也确实有圈钱之嫌。。

反正就把这些转专业当成是finance的rej吧

这样130多人被拒的话项目好像也还算selective。。唉MSF就是人太多了。

这解释跟啥都没说有什么区别。。。总而言之，学校就是为了圈钱，一个msf项目容量100报了180，多出来的80人的钱没赚到怎么办？没关系，把他们放到供应链和MIS去吧，反正我看不上马里兰，爱咋咋地。。。
