the following editorial appeared in the South Fork Gazette.

Last year, the city conctracted with flower Power to plant a variety of flowers in big decorative pots on main street and to water them each week. by midsummer many of the plants were wilted. this year the city should either contract for two watering a week or save money by planting artificial flowers in the pots. According to Flower Power, the initial cost for artificial flowers would be twice as much as for real plants, but after two years, we would save money. Public reaction certainly supports this position:in a recent survey, over 1200 Gazette readers said that the city wastes money and should find ways to reduce spending.

either.. or

第三个错误是： 最后一句是无根据的，从save money to artificial flower

我觉得这道题隐含的结论是 我们将选择planting artificial flowers in the pots能省钱。节约成本是survey里的Gazette readers 所要求的。

1.either ... or...选择。我们完全可以选择不要这些东西，不是更加省钱了吗。

2.According to Flower Power说planting artificial flowers 能省钱，但是Flower Power的建议可信吗。还有initial cost 是两倍，two years, we would save money two years later, 这里比较的不是所要花的钱的总量。这个比较是没有意义的。

3.survey的问题，1200 Gazette readers 是一个孤立的数字，不能说明任何问题。而且是缺乏代表性，只是G的读者，不是所有市民。

我觉得结论是 the public support this position, this position 指代那个公司提出的 to save money and use artificial flowers

但是论证毛病在于，1)survey的操作

2）即使survey是可相信的，save money也不等于就在城市美化上节省，政府可以削减其他开支

3）即使应该在这个CASE上节省，either or的是错误的，至少可以考虑其他折中的方法

我觉得结论是民意调查支持使用假花。先说了一通假花省钱，又说民众要求省钱，结论是民众要求用假花。

3 2年后怎么省钱，没说，不用浇水省钱？但是如果两年后假花退色又得换新的~~

4 去年的花枯死是什么原因？去年交一次水不行，今年浇2次就可以？这个公司有问题么？
